Six essential Pilates principles

CONCENTRATION

Having one’s attention on the the body and breathing in order to activate one’s muscles.

MOTION CONTROL

Having and developing body awareness to control and isolate movements.

CENTERING

Always keeping one’s focus on the abdominal part. The key is to strengthen the inner abdominal muscles (pelvic floor and transversal muscle).

FLUENCY

Moving the body harmoniously respecting one’s joint without overworking them.

BREATHING

It is the essence of the method and what makes each exercise more efficient.

ACCURACY 

Only by doing it correctly can we get the maximum benefit from a Pilates class.
